What we collect
When you arrive from an advert we record that the visit happened, and whether you went on to the seller’s site. That record contains: an identifier we generate for the visit, the advert identifier your browser arrived with, your IP address, your browser’s user-agent string, the country your request came from, and the times you arrived and left.
If you accept cookies, it also contains the two identifiers Meta’s pixel sets in your browser. We use these to tell Meta that an advert led to a sale, so that their system stops showing that advert to people it does not suit.
We do not ask for your name, your email address, or any payment details, and we never see them. If you buy something, that happens entirely on the seller’s own site under their privacy policy.
Cookies
Nothing is set until you choose. If you decline, the Meta pixel is never loaded and no advertising cookies are created — we still record that the page was visited, which is a first-party record about our own site and contains no cookie identifiers. If you accept, Meta’s pixel sets the _fbp and _fbc cookies. You can change your mind by clearing this site’s data in your browser.
Who we share it with
Meta, for advertising measurement, where you have accepted cookies. The seller, who receives our visit identifier so they can tell us a sale came from here. Our database provider, who stores the record on our behalf. Nobody else, and we do not sell it.
The fonts on this site are served from guineapigged.com, not from a font network, so loading a page does not send your IP address to a third party before you have chosen anything.
How long we keep it
Visit records are kept while they are useful for measuring advertising and handling refunds, and deleted after that. TODO: state a specific retention period before launch.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, and complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office. To ask us anything, contact us at the address below.
